I'm looking forward to this trickling down to XT. I tired the K-Edge Di2 converted for mountain bikes a few years ago and liked it. The dirt specific stuff by Shimano should be even better. |

interesting development but after seeing first hand, the cost of high end mtb stuff getting thrashed, I am a little leery of smashing this stuff into the PA rocks and mud. I would settle for enhancements of XT and SLX It is still kinda neat though in that you just want an easier gear and just push a button and the system moves it all around on the rings as it sees fit saw an XX1 rear der. crap the bed this weekend, assuming that is like $400 or so. if single ring trickles down to a price that is consumer friendly with weight and performance? that might be the ticket for a while. For the record (slight drigt here), I am tired of seeing folks attempt to run weight oriented mtb parts in environmentally inappropriate situations. |

Ditto on your last comment. What elite racers need may be even farther from regular riders on dirt than on the road. Just built up a new MTB for me with X9. A bitty porky, but robust. |

When I can pick up take-off RD's at the local bike shop for $50.00 to run on my cross bike as I can 105 and sometimes Ultegra then I'll consider Di2 or XX1. With RD's being a 'consumable' part in cross racing and mbt'ing I like to take the weight penalty rather than the financial hit. |

been watching the pros use this, Julien Absalon to be exact, kind of intrigued with the whole no front shifter, it just automatically moves to the next gear JRT, that stuff in ridiculously priced, I was looking at doing the XO1 on my Ritchey, my wholesale cost was almost a grand, I can do an XT 1x10 for a couple hundred bucks. I was say that the 1x11 works very nice, I am amazed at how quiet the system runs |

For my purposes this is very good news for our planned tandem as this will work fine with road controls. Just don't know if I can use a front triple or only a 2 chainring setup? The full range from low to high under just 1 lever might remove any issues with this but tandem equipment can now work with Hydraulic levers, so disks too. |

Chain Reaction Cycles has this stuff at some pretty decent prices, but is still like 7 bills for the set up. Master, you can run a double front, there is not front shifter, the system just knows which gear is next in the sequence. |

Does 11 speed mtb require a different hub than 10? |

Ah, found my answer online. I happen to have DT hubs, so it would not be cheap to convert to 1x11. |

yeah, looking at that myself LSD, if, and that's a big IF, I decide to install gears on my Ritchey P-29er, I'll go 1x11 XTR electric for sure, but the new SRAM Gx 1x11 has a really nice price point |
