Today I figured out that a tooth brush makes a great brush to apply glue to a tubular. It had just the right shape. They are cheap also which is great. Use one and toss it. Anyone have something that works better ?

I've tried everything over the years and think the best is a flux brush, think you'll find it's easier than a toothbrush b/c you can twirll it around to avoid glue strings (if you're using a can of glue) and it can be pressed against the rim bed for perfect coverage.  I spent $10 at a local hardware store a few years ago and bought a box that will last me a decade.

Not sure how to do an active link on this site yet, so here's a cut/paste (sorry):

I brush tires with a flux brush and generally use my finger to spread glue on the rim. $10 worth of flux brushes and rubber gloves and I'm probably set forever.

Hmm. I've been using an index finger for about 35 years. Sure, it takes about a day of occasional picking to get it all off your finger again, but it's part of the whole process...makes me happy! Fresh tires!

laurentja, you are clearly not a hand model.

I use flux brushes.
