picked this up yesterday afternoon....came to the realization that my old CX bike was really too big for me. Local shop had this Specialized Crux (2014) for about $1000 off....paid $1500. No one wants 10 spd or cantis, so it worked out great for me!!

Sorry for the crappy pic....just took a quick shot once I got home.

Broke it in on an epic ride this AM....rain and 46* for a 38 mile trail ride. Soaking wet and filthy by the time we got done....a true "hard man's ride".

Oh yeah....specs! Full carbon frame and fork...tapered head tube (1 1/8 - 1 1/2). Components are Nothing too fancy - 105 drivetrain w/ Gossamer crank, TRP cantis and Specialized wheels. Pretty basic stuff and BY FAR the furthest I have ever dropped on the component scale (don't know that I have ever ridden 105 in my life!! I'm such an elitist...LOL)

Had to swap out the stock stem for an old Ritchey WCS 120mm to get my fit dialed in.

Nice!

Got a pic of the bike and/or you after the ride?

Nice. CX bikes are the jeep of bikedom, you can use 'em for anything.

What's that bottle cage doing on a 'cross bike?

Nice change of pace!
But those gossamer cranks make me shudder.

@ eurochien - it was a long trail ride (37 miles). Still need to hydrate! Plus I really don't have much interest In racing 'cross anymore. Mostly just ride my CX bike in fall for trail rides like we did today.

One of my daughter's took a pic of me when I got home. I'll try and post it tomorrow.

The rider....that is not stubble on the bottom of my face!

The bike....looks like I got home just in time. Front tire was flat this AM when I took it out to wash it off.

What size tires and are they large enough for what you are doing. Nice rig.

That last pic, that's what a bike should look like. Minus that weird contraption in the back of course. Sweet.

The rider looks like a deer caught in headlights...clearly needs some more hardman ride practice. Keep it up :-)

The weird contraption was a nod of consideration to my riding companions. Two of the 4 guys on the ride didn't have one....riding behind them was pretty bad.

Tires were 700x32. Trail is packed sand / gravel...almost a hard pack so they were fine.

Very nice! I love 105. Just works and lasts forever. The bike definitely looks better in the second picture.
