I've used them for over a week of riding. Nice fit, plenty of box and to my surprise almost as stiff as road shoes. Definitely not a walking shoe per se
just a tad better for walking when compared to road shoes because the soles of these are very stiff no flex nor do the clips protrude. Best of both worlds.

I've received numerous compliments and IMO they are much better looking than typical road shoes with all the  graphics.

Not a great pic but the only one I have wearing the shoes, my girlfriend took this before I went out for a ride. I'll prolly get another set but in gray when I find a sale.

Bob, those shoes look great!  Plain and simple. I'm a big fan of those and the brown ones that somebody posted a pic of the other day.

The only reason I bought the Sidis that I did some ten years back, that now live in So. Cal. and get used on The Medici, is that they were the only ones that weren't hideous.  Most cycling clothes and shoes are just so gaudy  I choose to avoid it, but those I could live with.

I had originally setup the 1983 Raleigh for my son using the 1980 Campag Super Record pedals, but he decided (wisely, I think) to not use them and go with some Shimano SPD pedals and shoes.  I am now thinking about putting the old Campag pedals back on The Medici and I"m betting that the velco-tabbed Sidis won't work well with the toe straps.  I may just ditch the Sidis in favor of a pair of those beauties as I already have a set of bolt-mounted old-style clips cut to fit that bolt pattern.  Thanks for the link.

BN, I can't share your concern over the use of leather. If cattle and hogs are going to be killed for food, how is it better to not use the carcass for products we can use (and probably use synthetics that require more oil instead)? The number of cattle raised and killed is a function we (non meat eaters) don't control. We can slightly lessen the size of the waste heaps by using leather.

Edit:  Another point is the durability.  Good leather lasts a while.  My favorite dress shoes I've worn nearly daily for 14 years and 2 or 3 soles.  For me, good cycling shoes of leather fit (or can be made to fit)better and get a lot more use.  THere is enough non-leather, non-biodegradable stuff in all cycling shoes that getting them to last helps ecologically.
