Got tired of a creaking BB from the dumb-ass prssfit BB on my last bike....eBay’d and got this instead.

Canyon Aeroroad w/ Ultegra mechanical and hydro discs. Upgraded the crank to a DA Stages for my power (got a sweet deal from a buddy). Reynolds Strike wheels, tubeless ready (not yet tubeless though). Will also upgrade the HB to Specialized Aerofly carbon bars shortly...and get a longer stem.

Holy smokes! That thing is beyond sweet! Love the Dura-Ace crankset and Reynolds wheels. Definitely completes the package. Think you'll miss having Di2? That is a really sharp looking bike.

I'm waiting for my Chapter2 Rere to arrive.

I actually ditched the Di2 last year (at least on my main bike...it is now on my back-up bike). Had nothing but trouble with it and just don’t really see much advantage in a road bike. Shifts are no faster than mechanical (and arguably slower).

I will probably miss my Campag stuff, but the new Ultegra is pretty damn sweet.

Did a group ride this AM that was about 85mikes and then I extended it out to hit triple digits. Can’t say enough good things about the Canyon...logger and snappier than my Venge.

What problems did you have with Di2? Was it the first generation Ultegra Di2 or 6870? I know Shimano has made some huge leaps in making mechanical far smoother and lighter with this latest generation that you are using.

Selling the Venge?

Venge is sold...gone.

I was using 6700 series (10speed). Some of the problems were my own (tight e-tube measurements would occasionally lead to pulling the wires out at the HB / shifters). But I also had a battery and a Junction Box A crap out on me. On top of that, it never really stayed tuned (despite the claims of what it should do). Purely anecdotal stuff and the majority of people don’t have these issues, but i’m just not a fan.

If I was gonna do electrical again, it would definitely be eTap. Can set that stuff up in about 10 minutes and don’t have to screw around with wires and junction boxes.

I hear ya, Dale....but Campag is just stoopid expensive now and they have only just intro’d discs. I’m not ready to go there yet.

True 'dat.

They are handicapped logistically with the Romanian and Italian base, and their focus on being boutique is limiting innovation.

12v.... really? That's where you put your R&D money?

I'm currently jonesing for eTap with hydro disc but want Campag to make it

If I still think 11v is dumb (but finally caved), you can imagine my feelings re: 12v....

Sweet bike! One of my buddies bought their Endurance bike with the same Ultegra mechanical/disc package and he absolutely loves it. And their prices compared to a similarly spec'd Specialized . . .

I'm with you on the Di2 vs. mechanical. It hasn't been a game changer in my experience either.

That is a great looking whip Cosmic - well done!

Glad to hear your thoughts on Di2 which I was tossing over as a possibility when I move to Granada next year. I think I'll stay with Dura Ace mechanical which has been flawless so far.
