I would totally ride these bars....especially for gravel. the reality is that "standard" handlebar design is based largely on early 20th century manufacturing techniques and standards...specifically you had the thread your HB through a stem clamp, so you had to have limited bends. With carbon fiber and removeable face plates, you can design handlebars that are far more ergonomic (and aerodynamic). https://cyclingtips.com/2019/06/coefficient-wave-handlebar-review/
Just say "NO!" to WCP!!!!

Interesting...that's almost opposite shape of what I was expecting.
FWIW I can't handle ergonomic keyboards either.

"The cycling world is often a slave to fashion: what’s cool, what looks right, what’s acceptable ..."
First sentence of the link. The bars I have evolved to for gravel and fix gear climbing have shapes that have been considered acceptable but long ago (and a brief wave with hipsters not too long ago). Not remotely current fashion. Bars with very rounded shoulders, ie pista bars or close only wide. Throwing the bike out of the saddle in the drops and bone bruising my forearms on near square corners isn't my idea of fun. These CW (Coefficient Wave but I protest at the name; coefficients are constants, unlike sine functions that do have waves) bars take that square shoulder to the extreme. I'll pass.
Also I've long thought the pista bars ridden up mountains by a Bernard Thévenet style seated climber would be ideal as the rotated hands throw your arms out and open the chest. My experience of recent years seems to confirm that. Not very aero but great for low RPM power.

Does Grant have these at Rivendell? Comment on the photo: Note the bell. Required in NYS.

Loving the bars, and the bell. The name is dorky but whatever.
And Ben love the Nanar (if I remember Thevenet's nickname correctly) reference. Oh man that was just huge when he dethroned Merckx, cheating, sucker punch by a fan to Merckx and all.

Another thought CK. How are you going to fit aero bars on those? They'll be pointing all over the place even before they rattle loose.

unreinforced CF so no aero bars. But if you took the chance, they would create a sort of "come to me all bugs and wind" set up. Might appeal to some.

If I were able to ride drop handlebars I would give those a try in a heart beat. My wrists and arms have been a pain while riding for years and now. I'm using flat bars with extensions. I had all but stopped using the drops on normal bars years ago and only used the hoods and tops. I also have always ridden like Froome. I never could keep my head up while in the drops.
