Well, I turn 60 this summer and being that I live smack dab in a Vermont valley surrounded by serious climbs I was thinking I would reward myself. See, when I turned 50 I got myself a compact crank. Now that I will be turning 60 I thought I would switch my rear cassette from 11x28 to 11x32. This will necessitate a new rear derailleur.
My bike is currently sporting a 10-speed 11x28 (Sram components). Many of the new Sram derailleurs are 11-speed. So, my questions:
Can I put an 11-speed cassette on my rear wheel without causing any issues re: clearance or front derailleur compatability? If not, can I use an 11-speed derailleur on a 10-speed cassette and just set the limiter screw to not allow it to overshift?
Thanks!
