Anyone have any experience using them to SELL a bike? I am selling three bikes and am already fed up with Ebay and Craigslist. Would love to hear personal experiences. From what I've read so far, so good. I have perused their website for several years now, but never really thought of selling through them until recent. Thanks!

It is a quick and simple way to get rid of your bikes….but you’ll only get “wholesale” for it because they need to resell it and make a profit.

I got a quote for my old Crux frame. They offered ~$550 and I am pretty sure I can get close to $800-$1,000 if I sold it myself.

But the process to get a quote was easy and fast. Took a few pics, sent them in and I had a quote the next day after the weekend.

I'd never heard of them. Checked out website, looks slick and legit. But prices for second hand material seem up there. Maybe a sign of challenged times but under normal circumstance I'm pretty sure I could get a deal on a new bike matching some of these prices.

Talking to LBS yesterday, they're expecting supply chain challenges to remain through to 2023. So be prepared.

I sold two bikes to them a couple of years ago. Simple and easy process and they were really easy to deal with. To CK's point, they'll pay you wholesale and not retail so you need to align your expectations. I left some money on the table but it was worth it to me to save the time and hassle of listing them on Craigslist or eBay, dealing with quirky buyers, etc. I did end up having seller's remorse over one of the bikes but not because of the amount they paid me - I just really miss that particular bike.

Thanks, folks. I am not good at selling my children. Went for a ride today and by the time I got back I had convinced myself I would not sell that particular bike ; ) I just won't be able to get what they are worth to me from them. I have babied them since I got each of them and they are in near new condition. I'll maybe sell two ; )

This appears to be a common malady- it's tough to let them go.
Logic would have me sell three or four bike and frames but there they sit.

Never used the "Pro's Closet", I don't believe in buying used stuff for top dollar or selling my stuff for pennies on the dollar. I understand the business model and selling to/buying from the "Pro's Closet" works out great... if you're the "Pro's Closet". Craigslist seems to be the best option for me: local, no fees, cash.

Yeah. I am going to take the long route and go with Craigslist. I have already had my share of crackpots enquiring, but so far it's pretty apparent when it's a scam. I thought to try Ebay and had my S-works Stumpjumper listed and found I couldn't edit it despite no offers - they kept trying to tell me it was my browser, then I supposedly wasn't doing it right, several hours wasted until they admitted they had a bug in their system. F#ckers. Waste my time, make me feel stupid, and to top it off, no apologies for a bug in their system. With their new commission charges why would I want to go that route? Which leaves Craigslist - which means I will be waiting for the right buyer on a smaller reach. The positive side is that my wife has been really cool about it, especially since my new bike is on the way ; )

Never used it, but you could try Facebook Marketplace, as well....

Good analysis by Eurochien except I run my bikes into ground so use the back alley instead of the hassle of Craigslist or other sales platforms
