1) I need to replace the battery on my 9-speed Flight Deck computer. Is it water-resistant? I need to know if I also have to replace the gaskets if it comes with any. Can I have this done at any watch repair shop, can I do it myself or do I need to send it back to Shimano?

2) Same thing with my Polar S410 hrm. I need to replace the battery, can I have it done at any watch repair shop or should I send it where Polar instructs one to send their hrm?

3) I am selling a 9-speed gruppo on Ebay. Should I sell it as a total group or would I get more money selling the parts separately?

4) I'm looking for a 9-speed cassette, preferably an 11-19 straight block. Did Shimano ever make such a cassette? I'm trying to be patient to see if one pops up on Ebay, but so far no dice. Can I get one from an aftermarket company, and if so, who would make one?

5) Also need a pair of brake calipers to replace the carbon Campys I have on aShimano 9-speed TT bike. Did Shimano ever sell TT brake calipers and if so, what tyoe of luck would I have finding them?

Muchas gracias in advance. If you're wondering, the site software wouldn't let me space the paragraphs for some reason, so the original post was unreadable.

This was the only way I could make the questions legible.

I'd recommend sending your polar back to polar. I've tried the jeweler route and the seal was not perfect. Ended up wet and had to send back to polar anyhow.

2) Send it to Polar. Seals need to be done properly or you may void whatever warranty you have left.

3) General thought is to part it out. More bang for the buck

4)DOn't believe they ever made one. 11-21 is likely the best you will find.

5) The only TT brake that Shimano ever did was the old AX model (I think that is the right name). It was a center-pull design. 7 experimented with it several times, but don't think he ever actually used it in the TdF. As for fonding them, good luck and be prepared to spend a pretty penny. Another option would be the TriRig aero front brake.

Just say "NO!" to WCP!!!!

Sorry about the mix up, Cosmic KId-I meant to say "Shimano brake levers, non-STI".

Thanks for the input. I really appreciate it.

Berzin, I cobbled together a 9 speed 14-22 straight block for a commuter bike. Used individual cogs from two different 105 cogsets. If I recall, 105 cogsets were pinned together but you can remove the pins to get at individual cogs. I bet you could do the same for the 11-19 corncob you want.
