Shopping for a new summer bike, for weekends, commuting, long mtn rides. Deciding between the classic frame and the compact. Looks like the compact has internal routing which I'm not crazy about but I do like a fast responsive bike for the hills. Which would you prefer?

Both are great handling bikes, I doubt you'd be able to feel much of a difference between the two beyond esthetics.
Personally I prefer classic look.

I miss mine, finances forced me to sell.

Yeah, I guess we are talking a one degree difference in head tube angle, 0.2cm bb drop, and 1cm chainstay difference so I'm leaning toward the compact, largely due to the tighter rear end ;>). Decisions decisions. It is a good choice to have I guess, in the scheme of things.

Too bad you had to sell, Bob. Did you ever get an opportunity to ride both geometries? Differences are even slighter down in your size.
