This should be fun. Was asked this weekend what bike I'd buy if money were no object. My options are typically limited to nothing or whatever I can get an industry deal on. Honestly, I was completely stumped.
So far this is what I have:
1. Swift Carbon UltraVox Ti
2. Trek Madone (yeah, yeah, yeah, laugh all you want but it's a darn good bike)
Nothing much out there blows my mind. |

I am like you, I am kind of jaded at this point. They don't have motors on 'em and I ain't racing so it don't have to be the lightest or anything.
But...ok. Money is no object.
I would build this up with an assortment of Campy Record/10sp parts and DT shifters and some NOS Mavic GL280s. The ultimate Retro Grouch ride. |

Carl Strong Ti cross bike with S&S couplers, couple different sets of wheels, Campagnolo Super Record w/ electronic shifting.
I'd be set for life... or until the next coolest thing comes along |

For a road bike, I'd go with a Specialized Venge w/ Ultegra Di2 and Zipp wheels.
For a tri bike, I'd go with a Specialized Shiv TT (nosecone version), DA components and Zipp 808 up front and a Zipp 404 w/ wheel cover in the back.
Hey....wait a minute. Those sound kinda familiar...... 
In all seriousness, I would go with a Cinelli SuperCourse w/ Campag Super Record components, Chris King hubs and NOS Mavic Gel 280 / 330 rims.

The Venge w/ Ultegra as well; I am a no nonsense guy who likes stuff that works.
I'm investing my money in bike trips though, with significant investments likely to occur 2015/2016, so for hardware wishful thinking is going to be a few years out. That's cool. Experiences, not toys. |

| i'd probably go with a custom steel frame with reliable bits. maybe even a gravel type bike so i can get places. probably even disk brakes. maybe couplers so i could travel. |

Cannondale style headshock with 60-70mm travel, air sprung for adjustability, and lockout. |

Kieth that is my ambition for our next bike. We had a KHS tandem many years ago and that did nothing to sell us on a road tandem. Calfee makes a super stiff bike that weighs as little as 23 pounds. Local riders that have one rave including 1 couple that has owned several tandems.
As for a single? might like a C-60 disk but in fact I have 2 dream bikes already. |

Yeah, there are not many bikes that make me think that large outlays of money are necessary...but that Calfee Tandem is something special. |

I just looked in the garage and my Santana tandem is sulking… I think it knows I'm reconsidering my "If-money-were-no-object" selection. The thought of a Calfee is quite appealing.
Now if I could only get Ms. Wonderful to trade places on the bike I'd have the best of both worlds-- a bike ride with an amazing view |

| Not "new", I'd like to slap a Campy Super Record group and some nice carbon wheels on my old seldom ridden Colnago Master X-Light. It's heavy, but it fits me like a glove. A new bike for me would be like putting lipstick on a pig... |
