Sorry CK, no offense intended. Besides, the barbs weren't aimed your way. I truly admire Ben's hard core fixie experience, he is walking the walk, and very well, too. But I was (I hope gently and in the intended spirit of good fun) giving a pin prick to declarations of superior worthiness of a particular way to ride.

When SRAM came out with the XX1, it was hugely expensive, especially the 400.00 rear cassette. I was looking at converting the Ritchey P-29er to XO1 SRAM, but I was still looking at 600.00 or so on the wholesale side of things!! I could do a XTR 1x11, and it would not have as big of a rear cassette, but it would only cost a couple hundred bucks or so. Still single speeding it, and really loving it, in a weird way, it seems easier to pedal than a geared bike, there's just something about the simplicity of the thing.
