My Ritchey Titanium Break-Away Cross frame set showed up!!!

I'm so excited I can't even function.

Not wanting to go totally stupid on the build since it's a cross bike and will see crappy conditions but I'm pretty sure I'm getting a Chris King bottom bracket with the grease injection tool.
BB's get abused so it seems like a good place to splurge.

The rest of the build--- for now probably just cannibalize other bikes in the stable until I get the fit dialed in and get a few rides and races in.

Nothing like a new bike, frame set, or components to turn us into little children again. Enjoy!

Get a really long stem. The Ritchey's have very short top tubes. I run a 140mm stem on my break-away cross. Mine isn't Ti but I doubt the dimensions differ.

Dale, my bikes were made by Dave Levy (Ti Cycles) who could call himself the "Break-Away" king if he wanted to. Has retrofitted Break-Aways to many steel and ti bikes. Several builders (including Moots, I believe) send new frames to Dave to be "broken" as it is easier for them to do that, knowing it will be done very well, than invest in the time and energy to do it themselves.

Titanium seems to me to be such a no-brainer as a material for a cross bike. CF yes, IF you are sponsored as it saves a pound or so you have to lift, as long as someone else foots the bill after that crash. Have fun!!
