The new Velocio vest as reviewed by VN (http://www.velonews.com/apparel-review/2018/04/velocio-mens-wind-vest_464518).

Nice - materials, execution, the two way zipper, ...  Wow!  The visuals!  The cost.  (Maybe I shouldn't complain about the cost.  I just paid $45 each for two lightweight Patagonia thermal tops at REI.  But I do know these tops will last until we are parted.  I still have, use and love the long sleeve Patagonia I sailed the Atlantic with 32 years ago.)

According to VN, "It’s tailored for a snug fit and looks amazing."  Amazing, maybe,  Something I'd be seen in?  No.

I regularly lose vests.  Ie, their effective half life (the portion of their life in my possession) is short.  So $160 is way too much for me.

$160 for a best?!?!. How about “no”?

Bike clothes are getting stoopid expensive. The group I ride with on Tues / Thursday just switched to Pactimo. Jersey, bibs and a vest cost me $400. I thought that was ridiculous...no way i’m Dropping $160 for a vest.
Just say "NO!" to WCP!!!!

Agreed on dumbass pricing - I am now getting my gear either through eBay or from the shop of a friend in Spain. I am left speechless when browsing what's available online or in shops. Just nuts.

I rarely buy anything (especially clothing) at retail anymore.... 1) I used to still have my industry hookup at Pearl, but just lost that about a month ago. Fook. 2) Steep & Cheap always has blowout stuff that is a fraction of what retail is.

Never ceases to amze me how dumb the industry is in what they order / have to blowout at the end of the year. Any halfway educated person should understand that they can always pick up "last years" stuff (be it clothing or bikes or components) at silly prices.
