11mph to zero in yesterday’s cross race. Downhill 90* into a ditch. Rode clean four times then had the front wheel too far left 4” and a jackknifed bike followed by a sudden stop. Right shoulder and front right side of the helmet took the impact.

Broke the MIPS connectors inside the helmet, cracked the EPS. Got up, banged the left shifter back in place, remounted, and finished without losing a place.

Sore today, bruised shoulder and thumb, no headache, no head bruises or marks where the helmet protected.

Glad you are OK, Dale…as you noted after my crash in Iceland, guys on our meds gotta be really concerned about head blows.

Thanks. Glad the helmet did its job. I had just ordered one of the new Giro Aether Spherical helmets. MIPS plus a second EPS that’s an additional slip plane. Expensive but the fit is perfect and the effort it takes to get the secondary EPS to move is tiny. I’m impressed with it.

Not that I’m capable of really knowing what to do I did note no headache afterwards, didn’t get knocked out, no symptoms of concussion, and when I got home I stayed up later than usual to monitor myself.

I prefer not to test my helmet. Glad you're OK.

Ellen van Dijk wasn't nearly as luck as you. She suffered a minor concussion from her crash in P-R.
