I'm trying to replace my broken saddle and i have a USE Alien carbon seatpost, one bolt from the rear system. I've loosened up the bolt but it won't slide out, and the saddle won't budge, totally still locked into place. Anyone have one of these seatposts and know how to get a saddle off of one? thanks in advance...

Had one on my old Scott CR1. Great post....as long as you never want to adjust or remove your saddle.

IIRC, once you have the bolt completely loose, it is basically just wedge forces holding in place. Problem is that the clamp system is wedged but good.

Try using a rubber mallet to knock the pieces loose. Ideally you would just rap the SP head, but I seem to recall whacking the nose of the saddle and everything finally coming clean (and apart!!)
Just say "NO!" to WCP!!!!

I always found it was best to back the bolt out 5 or 6 threads and then tap on the bolt head. It doesn't take much force, few softish taps with a small hammer. It will push the "cam" piece out and free everything up.

thanks for the future tip CG. man, that is one finicky mechanism. there'll be no on-the-road adjustments with that sucker. it's like playing Jinga.
