So first it was Serotta 9although once they showed Ben and the CEO the door they supposedly resumed business" and now it seems that Blue is about to schitt the bed.

A thread was started on ST about a team that had put down payments on team bikes back in December and still have not received bikes and it is looking like they never will Out side of 30 days from the charge so the CC companies are basically saying "You are SOL."

I would avoid ANYTHING being produced by Divine Cycling group at this point.....I'm sure Mad Fiber is close behind Serotta & Blue.

Point of clarification - it seems that DCG never officially acquired Blue Competition, so those issues really can't be laid at the feet of DCG/.

That said, I think it is pretty clear that the DCG companies are in a bit of a tailspin right now.....

Well that really sucks!! They had some great products and a fantastic team of people supporting the customers. And yet again, some pompous investors that think they know everything about business because they can push Excel spreadsheets around, come in and destroy a company that's in an industry they don't understand. But they would never admit to that! It always seems like the first people they cut are the ones with all the experience and knowledge of the product.

It's the modern 'American Way'...........sadly......and moreso as it is not just with bicycle companies.

If there businesses were so healthy or their founders motivated, why sell to the PE shop? Not rhetorical, I just don't know except that clearly serotta as a brand has seen better days.

PE is largely a scam IMHO but sometimes there are legitimate uses of the capital so you really have to know the purpose and inside scoop.

Ben has a history in re: to PE groups that continues to repeat....he reaches a certain level of business and knows that, if he is to continue to grow, he needs additional backing. PE guys come in, damn near wreck everything, Ben buys them out....lather, rinse repeat.

IIRC, this is the third time he has been through this....first when they merged with Fat City, then again in the mid-00's and again now. It has never turned out well for him, and now it has unfortunately cost Ben his brand.
