I posted up an add in a number of places. Got one strange reply that looked like a scam so I won't respond to that one. Got another yesterday which seemed suspect but the prospective buyer wanted to be sure of the size and linked from the Ibis site to ensure that my bike is the smallest size, which it is. I checked the persons facebook page and it looks legit. She's a rider and all.

But she is in New Mexico and I am way up here in Vancouver BC. I would never buy a used anything without actually laying eyes on it, particularly a bike. Plus shipping may be pricy for the buyer but that is her risk plus would she be hit with duty or taxes?

And she wishes to use PayPal which I have used for race entry in the past but someone tried to hack my account so I never used it again after that. I could always sign up again but there are stories of folks sending the goods then the purchaser cancels the payment after the goods are sent.

So IF I sell to this distant person, what protections are there for me as a seller to a foreign land? And what risks for her as a buyer?

I would much prefer to sell locally for cash but I am not getting any interest.
