Garmin - AARGH!

Anyone have tips for installing Garmin Communicator for Windows 8? I have downloaded the Communicator repeatedly. It completely downloads and installs, but then goes back to the Garmin page and says I don't have Communicator. I cannot upload ride files automatically and have to manually upload them as a result. First world problem, to be sure, but I phucking hate it when software doesn't work as it should!

Garmin Edge 800 and Microsoft Surface Pro. Should have thought to mention that - thanks for asking.

I've always found their Customer Service to be pretty good....a bit annoying at times as you often run through the steps you have already tried, but they are friendly and helpful.
Give 'em a shout in the AM.

I get to live in Luddite bliss. Only electronics on my ride today was a cell phone (that I used to call in a near miss by a car pulling out of a side street with stop sign that nearly took out a left turning tandem.)
