Just read that on VN and was glad to see it. Hope it is foreshadowing of a very competitive season among the top climbers!

Good to see. I love the way he races. With his heart, with his great race smarts. Once the race starts, he doesn't need earplugs or a DS to tell him what to do. Some of the best moves he has made were based on gut feel and the willingness to pour his heart into what that gut said. Fun to watch and for me, racing at its best.

I never thought he was the best pedaller, best looking on a bike, etc, etc. but he is a LOT of fun to watch!

Go 'Berto!

Just watched the final 30km of T-A. I am just astonished at what 'Berto did. No one in the peleton has the cajones that he has. Seriously amazing. His acceleration in the final 500km when Greatsch (sp?) caught back on made my start to laugh it was like an afterburner.

It really was like a clinic -- he didnt let anyone else take a pull. Just friggin amazing

That was fun! I was kinda disappointed Porte didn't start today, but it wouldn't have made any difference in the outcome. Contador blowing up Quintana on 20% grades? Yup, he's back!

Back in the day there was the concept of "l'homme de printemps" and "l'homme d'ete", the man of spring vs. the man of summer, i.e. it's rare to be both. I'll bet AC wants to be the summer guy. Back then they raced all the time, so it's more possible now to be flying in March and July - but still hard.

I think Contador's biggest concern coming into this year is could he get his old form back. Now that he knows the answer is yes, I am going to guess we watch him lie a little lower the next few months, just doing what he needs to do to be at his best in July.

What was so big about today is that he now knows he can.

As others have noted, it is March and there is a long way to go before Paris.

That said, the past 2 years have shown us that it is possible to win from March through July (Wiggo & Froome both dominated all the stage races they entered leading up to July).

However, a key difference, IMO, is that both of those riders were extremely specific with their workouts / training. AC is nowhere near as "robotic", so whether he can continue to build properly on his form remains to be seen.
Just say "NO!" to WCP!!!!

Horner abandons with Tendinosis. Or was it tendinitis? Both are correct terms for slightly different symptoms. I have the OSIS not the itis.

LOL, Jookey!

Very nice to see Berto feeling his oats early on. He animates a race like few can. He should pace himself, like CK suggests, since it is a long season, and Chris Horner is being reminded of this.
