Man Kittle looks strong, He came from a long way back today and make it look easy. Went when he wanted to and just blew by everyone who was in front of him.

Today's win by Kittle is one for the ages. Cav has done that once or twice too, and against better competition. Looking forward to watching them go head to head in July.

Right after the cover Martin slipped on was another one on the left. Snaking around the covers in the wet at 30mph+ would be just as bad as riding over them

Yeesh....roads were like ice today in those last few KM's.

Impressive ride by Bouhanni.....from being off the back with a mechanical @ 10K to go to winning the stage.

Just say "NO!" to WCP!!!!

If things stay as they are Evans is looking at a mighty cushy buffer before the big mountains; BMC are grabbing Stage 8 by the horns. More carnage today. Purito's Giro sounds over and done with.

And mighty fine riding from Bling. Ha, and I wrote that before he won the stage (the one he marked as wanting to win). The kid is starting to ripen, the next Freire. And it looks like one of my podium picks, Kelderman also made it into group

With Purito at the Doc in a Box, its a wide open race. I will continue to stick by my prediction that Cuddles will go screaming off the back as soon as they encounter a traditional (as of late) Giro mountain stage this weekend. Thats when the real show always starts

You may be right on Evans - his strategy is clear; gain as much time as he can before the final week and hope its enough; he was already on hot form in Piedmonte so could well fizzle in mnts.

Rodriguez would normally have been an excellent pick but I didn't think he'd make an impact with two broken ribs from Amstel; and now he has a third.

Looks like I was wrong on Kelderman, he wasn't the last of the first group but first of the chasers and lost time. Well at least he showed he's in shape.

all the seconds he picks up screwing around week 1 will melt on one climb if he's not careful. for some reason the Giro always seems more aggressive in the mountains, that's not Cuddle's style these days

I'd say 49 seconds is more than screwing around :-)

But we'll know more after this weekend.

Uran and in particular Majka haven't gotten enough attention.

This climb is awesome. 6k and 9-14% on beautiful terrain mostly in the spring canopy. I am jealous.

The Italians have someone to cheer for this Giro. Nice ride by Kelderman to grab 3rd. BMC as a team are looking stronger than Movistar.

the cones the kept them on the left side of the road (riding over sewer covers) didn't help either.

so lets skip to today's stage 15. Uran holding on barely. Funny how he was pleased that his gap grew over Evans who totally imploded but the real climbers are lurking ever so much closer. Like what I see from Quintana who gets a little stronger every day. He needs more mountains to win this thing and will get them after the rest day. I can see Quintana winning this if he keeps going on this path.

Uran gained time on those closest to him but there are some guys lurking in top 5-6 that are climbing better than him. Without support he will have to pick his battles. This Giro could still fall a number of ways although Quintana has yet to convince me he can seal the deal. Best part, the Italians have two guys to cheer for, 3 if you count Ulissi.

Grappa TT will likely be decisive.
