Hit a barrier on the descent of Lookout mountain. Compound fracture..... Looks we won't be seeing the TT stars are & Stripes in the Tour this year....

Compound fracture?!! Oh man, that sounds awful!! I'd hopefully faint if I saw my own bone sticking out. Poor guy.

My brother just broke his femur in a cycling accident. I saw him in the hospital after the surgery , even all doped up it look like it hurt like hell.

I wish them both luck.

Props to the other competitor who also crashed for staying with Taylor until help got there. It sounded as though he could have gotten a new bike and continued but chose not to.

Bad news. Hopefully not as bad as initially described.. And just a few days ago he was saying he has "plenty of time" to win a classic. Uh huh.
