Putting up a million Euro if Contador, Nibali, Frrome and Quintana all do the triple next summer; Giro, Tour and Vuelta.  $250,000 each.

As a fan, that would make for one fun summer!  And as one of those riders?  Well, a 1/4 million of appearance money is nothing to sneeze at.  I'd be rethinking my plans.

Why didn't he offer Andy? Poor guy may retire now. No love.

Damn, that may take a lot of EPO, HGC, etc....... to complete that trifecta.

Rolling the dice to see how many of these riders stay healthy and injury free to compete in all three....

Latest developments: Nibali tweeted that Tinkoff should use that million to create a development team. Tinkoff tweeted back "Why or? I could do both!"

I can see why Nibali has his doubts. I suspect he would have more trouble than the other three doing all three GTs. Contador is probably the strongest day in, day out stage racer of this generation. Froome is close to a freak. Quintana is going to be something else. Nibali is good. But against those three? Good isn't enough.

That said, I love his winning move last summer - on the cobbles! I was rooting for Contador, but seeing Nibali hold onto the maillot jeune after that timeless ride will always seen "right", never mind the reasons for the demise of his rivals.

I think Tinkoff should consider an offer to the other three, let Nibali try to defend his title at the Tour. Now, if one of those three can do all three GTs and topple Nibali, wow!

You would get none of the guys through 3 GT injury/crash free. By the third one it would a yawn.

I like the idea of all of the top guys being at all of the big races but I don't think its realistic for many reasons, not the least of which is fan expectations.

Hey, back to the days when they raced the classics, all of the grand tours, six days...
