I have to say that is one of the scariest training incidents I've ever seen. Another tough break for an American in the Euro circuit and a lost year for Degenkolb. And after all that, everyone is still alive. Seems like a miracle.

The photos of the carnage were unreal, a miracle no one died. Sounds like it was a British lady forgetting she was not driving in Britain.

It reminds me when me and my buddies got a ride from a British military service guy in Germany. There was road work on the highway and after getting around it he simply forgot to merge back to correct lane. With a car speeding towards us I was like eh, uhm, we better move back to right. That woke him up from whatever slumber he was in.

crazy, be careful out there everyone, seniors in cars are scary as hell, really scary here with Santa Fe being a huge retirement destination, I imagine the average age here is 80? It's no wonder I'm on dirt trails on a cross bike, or strictly on the Mtn Bike these days

On a lighter note. I assume, you're the same as me, you subconsciously even walk to the right, like in a grocery store aisle. My mother worked for a British firm at one time, and was always having trouble with all of the Brits walking "the wrong way" down the hall.

I can't tell you the number of times I have almost gotten creamed by a bus in Hong King because I am looking the wrong way when I start to cross a street.....

Raced in England when I was young. It was natural to exit a turn in the right lane.

The rides in Brisbane couple years back were interesting and certainly I made some wrong moves a few times.

More interesting though was driving out of Sydney, first time ever driving on left, stick shift in left hand (WTF!) , bloody big Ford Falcon stationwagon that would later aquire a mouse as third occupant and with a radiator that would die on us somewhere near Ayer's Rock forcing many days of driving at 40kph until we found a capable mechanic. Second best road trip ever (nothing can top driving across the Sahara)
