I still have very conflicted emotions about Marco....I loved watching him race, but was crushed when he came up hot and subsequent revelations.

His life in his final years I would not wish in anyone....
Just say "NO!" to WCP!!!!

^ Me too. He was a tortured soul.

Back then I was a Bianchi rep and some higher up of the parent company spoke to us and said, in effect, "Marco is fragile."

He was fun to watch... attacking like crazy, standing climbing with his hands in the drops.

Ditto on being conflicted.
I enjoyed the early Marco who would attack when the mood struck and make it stick.
But, later, the absolutely, unequivocally, plain-as-day ultra-doped Pantani that won the Tour Giro double, contesting field sprints, never tired or even out of breath - that was ugly. Screw that Marco, good riddance.
