Just curious about other forumite’s take on the race today. I found it peculiar and fascinating. Worthy winner, feel good silver, and victory from the jaws of defeat bronze. Chase group disarray was maybe predictable but still a slow motion train wreck.

I missed it but it sounds like a combo of bad legs and too many fast guys in chase for it to work properly.

Yeah, I think OC nailed it…especially the “too many fast guys” aspect. Note hiw as soon as the gap started coming down, some stopped contributing, hoping to save their legs. That immediately doomed the chase as everyone realized there would not be equal contributions.
Just say "NO!" to WCP!!!!

Yea not much of a chase after 25K. All I know as just a spectator is they all were losers.

agree. Third place in a monument ain't bad, but they pissed it all away and the also rans took third and fourth at the last meters. Justice.
