I just don't quite get how sky manages to get the pre-race press they do. Wiggo the overwhelming favorite for the giro going in. Yeah, that panned out well. Now Froome is the overwhelming favorite for the tour. Somehow a guy who has won zero GTs is the overwhelming favorite over the guy who has crossed the line first in 7 of 9 GTs he's been in.

Are you referring to the cyclingnews article?

There's apparently a relationship between future plc of which CN is part, and Sky (I forget exactly how or what but read about it a while back). Ever since CN became part of future it has become an outlet for Sky "news" and the overall quality (IMO) of CN articles has gone way down. See for example the hack job translation done on Contador's comments regarding favorites for tour and then contrast it with the much better and complete article on our new home's site.

If I were Frome/Sky, I would not want the media telling Contador he isn't the favorite! As a fan of AC, I like that kind of press.

OC, I'm with you, I'm enjoying Velonation all around. SKY is funded by a hype machine so...

Well their GC team is the best even without Wiggo (really weird him not riding). I hope AC wins, looking forward to the dauphine.

This is coming from the same fools that were interviewing the Schlep boys like they are "Experts"
Yup Ben, Seriously? I mean SERIOUSLY? I hope Contador takes the Sky Train apart, he ain't Skeered...

I hadn't read that CN version of the Contador Story, OC.
They really did butcher and spin the translation.
