And maybe Davide Rebellin as well. I'm serious about this. For as much as we need dedicated sponsors in this sport, we don't need lying, cheating, manipulative, snakes in the grass like Danilo Di Luca anywhere near it. He does not deserve to ever again compete in any major races. He's had his chances, time, time, and time again, and he's utterly blown them. Any sponsor that would willingly bring him onto their team is therefore part of the problem. I've already sent a note to Geox expressing these feelings, and can only hope they're getting hundreds, hopefully thousands more in various languages.

Now if he does a Michael Rasmussen and signs with some tiny nothing of a team that just wants his name power, that's slightly less of a big deal. But it's still wrong. It's the name power of a sporting criminal. And we as fans need to say "Basta!" Enough is enough, and we shouldn't take it anymore.

Why not boycott the sponsor of Radioshack? There are the EPO tainted samples of Lance and the current investigation. If there is really a snake in the grass it's Bruyneel. I hope they will be sanctioned. Why Di Luca and Rebellin? They got punished and served their time. -- Oh I forgot, they are from Italy.

If proof (and not the word of a proven liar) comes out that that franchise is dirty, I'm right there with you.

And by the way, I love Italy

But furthermore, Di Luca has been caught doping THREE TIMES (he skated on one due to a technicality). This isn't about American vs. Italian. It's about being a liar and a cheat in a sport that's had much too long a history of it.

Well, I've just lost a ton of respect for Team Katusha. Any team that doesn't care about sporting ethics doesn't deserve respect. Now we wait to see how long it will be until Di Luca tests positive again.

And if he truly is going to ride clean (fat chance of that), he'll be dropped on the first ascents in the Dolomites (he's supposed to help Rodriguez at the Giro) and will be lucky to finish 50th in the Vuelta (where he's supposed to ride for himself). The last time he was juiced on EPO he could just barely keep the pace with Menchov. If he's truly clean, I expect he'll fall flat on his face.

It sickens me that Di Luca and Ricco will have their pick of the Grand Tours while Sastre and Menchov will have to hope and pray for wildcards.

I sent Katusha a scalding e-mail. I doubt they'll read it, but it's the principle of the thing. Do not spend any money at katushateamshop.com. Or I'll find you and pull your ears off

It's said that America is the country where everybody has the right to have an own opinion. - Must be an error. I recently got a death threat via mail from a former Twitter follower.

Hi, I find it quite consistently curious that as HighRoad's top riders get lured away every year for big bucks, their results diminish (the riders'). It's a long list from Gerdeman, Ciolek, to Lokvkist, Boasson Hagen, and now Greipel and Rogers. These rides had huge success at Highroad, but are shadows of themselves compared to when they were on the Highroad payroll. By this time last year, Greipel had 7 or 8 wins. He has one sprint win this year. Roges is nowhere to be seen. The season is young and we'll see how he defends his TOC win in May. Compare Boasson Hagen at Sky and at Highroad. He was a phenom at Highroad. Now he's slightly above average. Compare his Giro with Highroad to his Tour with Sky. Night and day difference. Same with Gerdeman.

Hi Karel,
Good point. Only pre qualified opinions get pub and cred in the USA. Dissent will not be published. Critical analysis will get no credit. Velonation is the exception of course. KPFA radio is another example of course. Thanks!
