and quite possibly his last. Just a picture but he looks super fit. Cavendish...not so much but then again he's already said he's not doing MSR (some other sprinters incl Greipel are passing up too this year) so there's a bit of time.

Hope you're right. I've always enjoyed watching Boonen race. It would be great to see him take out Roubaix or Flanders again.

Yup, Petacchi did retire. I thought it was because he was being implicated in a doping investigation and decided to say See Ya. Maybe my mind is going. Either way, no long after he retired, was it Tour Time and Cavendish was pissed about his lead-out?, that QS went and picked up Petacchi, then grabbed Renshaw too. Wait, why do you say it might be his last? Has he hinted at this? Off year last year, but injuries, not really issues with the legs.

Tom did a lenghty interview last year about the hunger for wins no longer matching the risks of the sport and being close to retiring. With the injuries last year, the hunger is back but my guess is if he has some big wins this year, then he'll hang it up; otherwise add one more year. I think he signed a 2-yr contract extension recently

I also believe it's Boonen's last year, and as such I'd love to see an all-out battle at Paris-Roubaix with Spartacus.

Boonen has a couple years on his contract. The interview in Procycling indicated he would do the two more. Although it was mildly hinted that if actually won PR or Flanders (or both) that he would retire. I think he had said the risks of pack sprinting were no longer worth it.
