I was pretty sure that Pit Bull could get another top 10 at the TdF, and maybe even crack the top five. I'm starting to think that he could contend for a step on the box. He is really riding well now, so we'll see how things go in July. Its good to have another contender so that it isn't just Froome vs. Contador. Hopefully a few of the other GC guys (VN, AV, BM, JvDB, TVG, RC, BW...) have great form at the TdF.

Crazy that he isn't getting more press. Talansky is hard as nails. Froome and Contador better not make the mistake of underestimating him.

Really impressive ride by Talansky. Coming in front of a wounded Froome...OK. Coming in just a handful of seconds behind AC in what seemed like full flight? Stud.

Tactics , tactics , tactics. That played out really interesting today. Really nice ride. They asked him if he was going to be one of the favs for the tour. He laughed and said no. He looks to have a really good head on his shoulders.

I will say that he probably won because Contador was playing cat and mouse too long with Froome but really good racing by Talinsky/Garmin regardless. And chapo to Ryder for working his ass off for Talinsky.

OC, I'll suggest that Saxo-Tinkoff as a team failed badly today. Yes, in hindsight, Contador should have just ignored Froome. Let him sit on AC's wheel as long as he likes! He still would have lost minutes. And AC would have been easily a minute or two farther up the road.

20-20 hindsight works so well!

But the S-T team failure, that was the undoing of AC. To let Talansky go early then have zero support for AC later, bad.

That's exactly right Ben. AC lost it due to the team game. Talansky the beneficiary and he should still be darn proud of that ride. If he didn't risk his placing, he wouldn't have won it.

I thought that Saxo was bad all week. Berto was isolated a lot. His domestique's really couldnt help him enough. He was strong enough to beat Froome but the team really should have brought AC to the foot of the final climb with time enough to control Talansky. Hats off to Garmin for going for it. Even so Berto almost nailed it back. He got some aweome training for July and will be super keen to win. And what the heck happened to Mr. I can beat evryone Froome?

No doubt Tinkoff - Saxo failed today, but it was also the JV team. No way that happens in July.

But damn.....what a ride by Talansky. Super-impressive.

I still have Froome as the favorite for LeTour. I'm guessing that today was the result if his crash and not any serious form issue. He was too strong all week. 2nd day after a crash is usually the worst.

What do they ride two days after the cobbles? Could be another bad day for Froome.

Stage 7: 234 KM with a couple of cat 4 climbs at the end (5 KM from the finish).
