So a team like Quick Step who year in and year out wins a ton of races do they get any real financial rewards for that success? Sure they pot the race winnings I'm sure but in terms of advertising do they get anything more ? Is the sponsor contract structure such that it says for this number of wins you pay us this, for this many wins you pay us more. If wins equals return on investment for the sponsors than more wins should cost the sponsors more you would think.m

They can negotiate a big(ger) contract the next year. Or if their performance goes down it complicates renewal contract negotiations. See Lefevre comments on Cav.

It actually makes the Classics less complicated in that Boonen is not a protected rider who can't deliver at the end anymore. Room for 1 more domestique to deliver Terpstra and Stybar with Cav for a sprint at Ghent forgot about Michal Kwiatkowski - 1 less chief to worry about
