Like many of us back in the day, I was never much of a fan of Andy.....in hindsight, he just wasn't cut out for the pressures of professional sport.

I like him miuch more today...he seems happy finally with who he is.

+1 I saw the article yesterday. I like that he has taken up the cause of seeing how ex-pros can be helped to find a new and good life. Also seems comfortable enough in his own skin to be able to approach all parties in that endeavor.

Sounds like he managed to find his feet. Agree he was mentally never cut out to be a top level athlete even though he had all the physical attributes. There are many in the peleton like that.

Yes, there needs to be a transitional program for ex-pros to find their future post-career in the real world. But the responsibility of such a program lies with the employers (the teams), not with ASO. UCI probably should probably mandate that teams have this. Where the money comes from is another matter.
