Just went to the website and reviewed the stages.  Stage 6, Park City has an official 3,051' (10,009m) of climbing.  That's quite a discrepancy!  (Home field advantage?  Place a divider in the road.  Those who do feet and inches, go right, those who do metric go left.  The American riders arrive at the finish fresh as daisies, the rest days later.}

They swapped the feet and meters.  Oops.

So the Prologue has started.  Race on!  And with ~600' of climbing in 2 miles, we should see difference bigger than sprint bonuses.

Thank you, Tour of Utah , for good, easy to access live coverage. Excellent website. (Yeah, I would tweak a few things. But overall ...) I enjoyed seeing a lot of Sepp Kuss last year and am enjoying the coverage now. The live coverage just blacked out for about a minute (and we were forewarned) so they could go on-line international but they are back. Well done.

Announcers I can stand also!

Sorta related anecdote: The Richmond Worlds website from a few years back (reminder: Sagan's first rainbow jersey) had contour maps of the courses on their website that incorrectly replaced feet with meters, making the courses seem much hillier than they were.

That said, the road course was hilly enough during the final few km to produce worthy winners in every event. The men's elite TT was not as harshly rolling as the incorrect maps suggested, but nonetheless was continuously rolling and irregular, and that surely affected the outcome, as the favorites like Dumoulin were close but off the podium.
