Cancelled due to yet more crappy weather. Darn. This would have been a magnificent stage. Probably a big break for Cadel Evans.

And stage 20 has been largely disemboweled. Weather in Europe this spring has been terrible.

Let it snow let it snow let it snow.....err wait it's May. From San Remo to the Giro weather no fun for racing in Italy this year. Although the race is pretty much in the bag, I was looking forward to the next two days.

Cadel must be ok with this cancellation... He will have a nervous day tomorrow protecting his tenuous 2nd place over Uran. Then again, 2nd...3rd... maybe it's no big as long as you get to stand on the podium. Scarponi on the other hand is probably disappointed as he is in 4th and seems to be going better now in the 3rd week.

As you get older your ability to recover suffers more than your overall strength. I believe Cadel did not do well in the TT because he was tired and not able to recover in the third week as well as the younger riders. Today's snow (recovery) day should help him for tomorrow.

Well, I'm sure Cavendish is pretty happy with this decision, too?

I don't think I remember a spring racing season this bad in terms of weather as far back as I have following road racing.

The irony of Paris-Roubaix being the only event without terrible weather is not lost on me.
