Tour of Turkey; seems to be working!  Yeah, Cavendish isn't up against the best here.  But he is showing he has some stuff still and what a smart guy at the end of a race!  Today, Stage 4, he couldn't get onto Philipsen's wheel and had to settle for a wheel he knew wouldn't get him there but never lost sight of where he needed to be, picked his moment and pulled it off.

I was going to scold DQS for not showing up at De Brabantse Pijl but I'll let them slide with this hat trick!

And back to De Brabantse Pijl - sounds like van Aert pulled a newbie-ish mistake, sprinting in a huge gear and getting passed by Pidcock spinning a far lower one.  (Thinking he was Superman and forgetting he was still wearing Clark Kent's suit?)

Fun day of racing for this fan!

Sounds like half DQS team crashed out at Brabantse.

Van Aert continues to make the same beginners mistake over and over. Doing more than his fair share of pulling escape along and shortchanging himself when it matters.

I can just see Levevre (sp) asking after the race "why were you here? (pointing to their position in the peloton) and not here?" pointing 30 riders further forward.

#4 for Cav! That's career win number 150 for him and he's #9 in all time pro mens road race victories.
Nice to see him notch up some late career wins. I'd like to see Greipel get one more before he hangs it up.

Pulling an ancient Cavendish thread to say - that shot of Cav sprinting to third place at Scheldeprijs - well he had to settle for third but the photo! The top of his back is nearly a foot lower than high point of anyone else. And his helmet is lower. Bike nearly upright. He is so compact a coach could use that photo to show his crew the ideal position though actually impossible (for the vast majority of mere mortal bike racers).

Third place, not bad. Easy pace all day that helped.

Better than a bunch of guys who should be faster than him by now. Fabio is certainly gnashing those new teeth. Nothings working.
