Both of them, that’s the interesting part. M finally did the base training he never got around to doing last winter and seems to be on his way to Worlds form. D is the more interesting case though. He almost quit cycling due to major back problems. Turns out his original diagnosis in 2020 was done by a family doctor who didn’t find anything. Couple months ago D gave same evidence to the same specialist that helped his brother who immediately identified the problem. David is now also back to racing form. Important lessons here and two years unnecessarily wasted.

With all the focus on M I never knew David had issues that had him sidelined.

David's problems were way worse than Matje's. M was just caused by the enormous power he puts out not being supported by sufficient core strength and other training, worsened by a few crashes and trying to get back racing too fast. David had some actual medical issues with his back.

Third win for VDP in as many weeks, looking good for worlds. All smaller races but all hard to win. Today was a reprise of sprint battle versus Girmay on Citidel of Namur, GP Wallonie.
