Dayem!  Contador and valverde --- out the back!  Froome in good shape.  We'll see what happens in the mountains -- I suspect some spaniards will be on the attack.  Should be exciting

just might be, OF. I'm reminded of that other-worldly TT performance AC produced in ?2009 around Annency where he beat Fabes for the stage win. Things were really "on form" back then. Still plenty of tdf podium finishers have been very mediocre in the Dauphine so it might just be that he is planning on being "on form" in a month. I really dont know what the hell it means, but today was pretty bad.

Wow, they both gave up 3:30+.

Ouch.

But shouldn't little climbers give up 3:30 to the WC in the TT? That sounds "normal" to me. Tony Martin drops 3:30+ on a summit finish every time.

The guys who TT and then outclimb everyone...??? As stronz says, Bert in 2009 was really eyebrow raising. And that is just an example.

Froome got exposed a bit in the Vuelta last year, maybe he was tired - maybe inexperienced

lets see how he does when it points uphill. Surprised that Bert got thumped like that, couldn't help but feel he was a little off this year. Doesn't he have major health complications as a result brain seizures or something? Maybe that is catching up to him?

From today: "The Kenyan-born Briton let his teammates set a high pace on the fast climb and then coolly chased down a tepid attack by Alberto Contador (Saxo-Tinkoff) before then passing the Spaniard and breakaway rider Matthew Busche (RadioShack Leopard) in sight of the line."

The Dauphine is turning into a bit of a snooze fest IMO. Hope it is not a sign for when they do that full lap around the French countryside.

I'm inclined to believe it could be allergies. I have year round sinus challenges. I'm pretty sure the drug I started using 13 years ago is a banned substance. It has been a godsend for me. I cannot imagine living the life of a pro roadie without it.

Contador has claimed allergy problems this time of the year in the past and had struggles similar to this year's. I am not going to give up on him yet.

Maybe he's gone vegan?

Is Dennis a vegan? Froome? If Froome is, he better be worried! I can imagine Contador getting dead serious about eating vegans for the Tour. A high quality protein source.
