My favorite all-time sunglasses were the double mirrored Vaurnet (sp) lenses (prescription) in Aviator style wire frames. For sailing, great! Really dark top and bottom to block the sun just above the sail I'd spend hours trimming and the reflection off the water, but light enough to see the deck and even below decks easily. My eyes felt rested after all day racing. They were mediocre for driving and poor for cycling, but on the water, there was nothing better.

| Vuarnet. French and I think ski sunglasses was where they started. We all wore them in the 80s. The dual gradient lens was great for skiing or water sports. I still have some somewhere and some one gave us a pair of white framed ones a couple years ago. I'll have dig then up now that they are cool again. |

Are the Vuarnet the ones with the leather bikini that wrapped around the frames to keep the light out? I vaguely remember something like that from my childhood.

| Back in 1981 there was the official Whistler newspaper called the question. Still is. And the underground one called the answer. They had a comic strip called peak bros. localman eas the hero. He wore goretex pants an Vuarnets while he battled the ski police and the Fila monster. I am guessing that is the closest thing they have to sport glasses?

| POC? Interesting. They do ski racing helmets goggles gloves and pads, mountain bike helmets and pads, gloves, shorts and jerseys but only freeriding and DH stuff. POC has one road helmet but it is an aero tt helmet. I wonder if other more road oriented things are coming out. |
