Does anybody else ever scroll down under a story over at cyclingnews for a good laugh? Today its on fire with guys going nuts over CF/RP feed near the end of the stage. I hope that those guys don't ever find us over here.

Is it similar to the ST idiots who come up with "if they cheat that blatantly in public, there is no doubt they are doping behind closed doors!!"???

Yeah, nice leap in logic there.

qui cum canibus concumbunt cum pulicibus surgent.

will be curious to see if there are any fines doled out. also curious if they weighed any bikes after the stage, as sherwyn indicated, and what the penalty would be if under UCI guidelines.

ALL bikes were apparently weighed after the stage, including those on top of the cars. S both of AC's bikes would have been weighed.

I'd rather check the velonews forum...

Oh, it no longer exists. Hey, anyone interested in a Louis Vuittton handbag?

I do regularly check out the CN clinic. Never posted there though. The conspiracy theories there are just plain good entertainment.

It's funny that CN, as easily the most pro-british cycling news site allows what has now become the most anti-british cycling forum to exist.

Well CN is Australian in origin. So just don't talk bad about Green Edge on that site.

Still down, very unusual. Either they got tired of all the anti-Sky diatribe or someone asked the wrong question.

O.C., the CN server fried because of all the hits to the live coverage of l'Alpe d'Huez. Bigger load than they had ever seen. (I was part of the problem. I was on when it went down.)

about a year ago there was a big dust-up over there about some electron related craziness that went on between Joe Papp and a couple of posters that thought their identities were being sold to the legal team of a soon to be no time winner of the Tour. When called out Papp threatened to sue everybody

wonder if it has anything to do with this as it was quite the drama over there?

It's still down. A simple IT issue, I think not. Smells more like a gag.

jrt1045, can you remember what that story was, or get a link? sounds like it'd be a good read.

OC, I just read the review about the new Specialized S-Works Epic Wold Cup dirt rig and there were three comments below: one spam and two referring to the spam.

J_A, the cyclingnews forum is still down and lots of the dust-up was deleted if I remember. Here it is paraphrased on another site:

http://forums.roadbikereview.com/doping-forum/joe-papp-290905.html

It was quite the dust-up. If the forum was back up after a day or 3, I would buy the IT story. I get the feeling its a little more. Anyways...gotta say, the incident really killed the forum - it is DOA for all intents and purposes. It soured the relationship between the users and the moderators and I don't think it ever will recover. The combative back forth between several users and the moderators brings out the worst in both parties.

As far as Papp Smear? Check out this comedy gold, his obviously self edited wikipedia entry, enjoy

Being a Pennsyltucky resident, I hear stories. I think he still lives in Mom's basement

Well, darn. The cn forums site is still down. What am I going to do for my morning funnies now? The absolute obsessive nature of pretty much every single post in the doping forum was such a glorious study in neurosis. The way people on the Internet are willing to argue the same point year after year after year, with the same people will never cease to amaze me.

Looks like they have some security issues. When I click on CN's The Clinic forum or other internal forums (I had a page open on my browser) I'm seeing this:

"Important security update about Future forums

PC Gamer

Last week on the 19th July 2013 we discovered that PC Gamer's vBulletin-powered forum had been the target of a malicious attack. Immediate action was taken to shut the forum which blocked the attack and we have since been thoroughly investigating the damage done and how this attack took place.

We have no evidence that any of the PC Gamer's users' details were stolen. However we feel it is safest to keep the forum closed until we are satisfied that the security vulnerability in the software is fixed. Information on the progress of this will be communicated via the PCGamer site.

Other Future Forums

If you are seeing this message it is because this vBulletin forum has been closed as a precautionary measure. We have no evidence this forum has been compromised, however we are investigating each forum in our network individually to be sure this is the case.

The website teams will be in touch with more information on the progress of this as soon as it becomes available.

We are truly sorry for any inconvenience caused, we take our user's security very seriously and we appreciate your patience."

The conspiracy nuts are now trying to claim that SKY and Froome made CN shut down their forums or risk being sued.

Seriously?

maybe not so far-fetched. forums can be held liable for their content. even if they win, they will have spent a ton of money in legal bills. and we know who owns Sky.
