The VeloNews interview before she was appointed VP.  5 questions.  9 sentences in reply.  At roughly 17 words per line, 972 words or 106 words per sentence!  I'm impressed.  This woman has a talent.

Much more seriously: This is cool, Brian Cookson taking on a woman as VP.  He has talked a lot about boosting women's cycling.  His opposition kept saying that was just talk.  Yes, this could be just a token gesture.  But in his first 36 hours he already appears to have done more than his predecessor in 8 years.  I like what I am seeing.

Seems like low hanging fruit. They should add a women's race to most of the men's classics races. And real races, not just a crit or a short TT. About the only women's race I can name is Fleche Wallone.

Low hanging fruit, yes. But it is a start. And very different from the former Pres who had as his second (and pulling strings?) Ver what's his name. (I know he wasn't VP. I sure couldn't tell you who that VP was. Seems to me he lived up to the usual VP status of being invisible. I'm hoping that will change.)

I agree, we need more real women's races, especially happening beside the great men's races. (That TT at the TOC was a joke!) I'm hoping Marianne Vos stays active here. She is in a place to be seen and heard and she now has an ear in Cookson (I hope).

low hanging fruit was referring to adding women's races to the men's events. I'm glad Cookson in giving women's racing a voice.
