I just put my old Cervelo S2 back together, this time with my PowerCranks (using them to help rehab a high hamstring injury).

Man, that bike just fits me great. Now that I have it back together, I gotta get the stack and reach numbers and transfer them to my Venge. Never quite got the same fit in that one.
Just say "NO!" to WCP!!!!

You know my thoughts on this matter...this red bike was pretty sweet but it was only a fleeting love (rental) and perhaps it was more about the surroundings

Bike #1 2007 Trek SL 5.9 with Campy Chorus UT, Mavic Ksyrium SSC SL wheels. Bike #2 '02 Colnago Master X Light with mostly Campy Record, Mavic OP 32 wheelset.

I am not lusting over a new bike right now. What I ride works for me. Maybe an upgrade on both eventually, especially the Master X Light.

It's still Jessica J. She proved her worth yet again last week.

If I needed another hobby and had the money to burn, I'd probably spend it on this:

My current favorite is the newest -- 2016 edition of Cannondale Super X with gearing for gravel grinding. Sweet ride and the disc brakes are a huge improvement over the mini v's that I'd been running.

I have about a dozen more; enough to turn one vain. Haute Route photographers were amazing; of course this is part of their sales pitch for next year.

I hear ya OC, I rode a new Madone that was at a local shop, belonged to a kid sponsored by Trek, whoa nelly, that was a great ride!! Great Pic!!

Looking at Salsa Deadwood right now, funny thing was, I was thinking about a Surly Krampus with a drop bar, and I was going to call it a Fat Drop, Salsa beat me to it!!

Lusting over something new, or just looking for a winter project, Been looking at a steel cyclocross to replace the carbon cross Ciocc, but most of all, looking at a long travel Dual Suspension bike, maybe a 650B plus Hardtail with a 160mm fork? yeah, all MTB's. Or a Nels Powelll Stainless custom, the frame builder lives here, he does some nice work. really nice

The rental was a 2015 Edmonda; Ultegra components, Bontrager wheels. Very nice and it worked flawlessly through the week. I've also been thinking towards a crossbike as a winter ride but been spending all my goodwill with the mrs on rides and trips so this will probably have to wait awhile :-) photo 2-HAUTE-ROUTE-ALPES-2015-FV-641_zpsd6rpt3tt.jpg

My road bike: Aluminum Marinoni, Ksyriums and Ultegra. I've had two fixed gears and a mountain bike, but after the initial, "hey this is different" I usually get sick of them and always go back to my road bike. I want to like mountain biking (lack of traffic), but I miss the fluidity of a road bike, and I just cannot get used to the position. Right now I only have two bikes, and my commuter is now getting used for running errands. It's a steel framed bike with a triple, fenders, rack, baskets and old style three speed bars with a completely upright position.

Currently looking for an older steel ride. Downtube shifters etc. . .

Spud, DT shifters! Digital Technology (with feedback)! Think about it. You get direct feedback from the derailleur to your fingers (digits) that are wired directly to your brain, enabling you to shift any cogset of any number of cogs, spacings (uniform or otherwise) and tooth profiles. On top of that, the system is light, reliable, aero and virtually crash proof.

Now there is one element of the computer system that is prone to failure in crashes. That "brain" unit. Helmets are recommended, because without that unit, the shifters work very poorly, whereas that unit is completely unnecessary with brifter/index systems.

Ben (with digital technology on two bikes, stick shifting on two (fix gear wrenches being the "sticks") and index on one. But no brifters (yet).

i've had several hard breakups, probably because i was abusive (gary fisher rig, niner sir). i'm having a dalliance right now but i wouldn't call it love (salsa fargo). the rest meant nothing to me.
How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives.
