One of my favorite rides here in Tucson. Heading out to the Biosphere2. Nice 72 mile ride from mi casa.

Nice. Looks a lot like Albuquerque. Not that surprising I guess. LOL. Not much motivation for "real riding" lately, so I've been riding the grocery getter and trying to figure out how to not crush the bread. :-)

I must have been on that road. My wife had an interview there years ago (Tuscon). We stayed at that historic (?) hotel. That was pretty cool. And I thought the Albuquerque airport was easy, wow, the Tuscon one was even easier.

My friend's son just starting going to school there, so I've been getting reports. He tells me it's a super bike friendly place.

Nick, my routine for grocery shopping: I take my Ortliebs in with me and put them in or under the cart. At the checkout, I have the checker put all items back in the cart, no bags.
I then load the panniers and drop them back on the bike. I take the pannniers into the kitchen when I get home. (Any spills get washed then and the pannier hung to dry in the
laundry on the way back to the garage. Pretty easy. When I shop at the farmers market, I go around twice, first for durable apples, root vegetables and the like, then the much
more delicate greens, etc.

My market bike's have both LowRiders and rear racks. 4 panniers. One rear is reserved for strarwberries and greens. Apples go into the bottom of one front, then pears. Heavy
root stuff, then reasonably strudy stuff go into the other front. (The rear bags are much kinder wrt road shock than the LowRider panniers but the bike handles a lot better with the
heavy stuff forward.)

Isn't that UFO country?  I have only heard of night sightings but always assumed they had
daylight capability.

@huckleberry i'll snap more next trip out there.

@Nick A the airport is bonus. The hotel must have been either Hotel Congress, or the Arizona Inn.

@Ben still waiting for my first UFO sighting. Seems our neighbors in New Mexico report more than we do.

@OC feel your pain

@ChinookPass no room at the Inn, as we still have custody of my nephews. Things are looking up though, so I'll keep you posted. I've always had the invitation out there. Anytime you guys need a break from that white stuff, contact me and come ride.

I think everyone from the NW is up for it!

That road looks really inviting.

I only visited Tucson once for a science convention a bunch of years ago. To save money, it was scheduled for Memorial Day weekend. A real hot one with temps over 120F. They brought out sand trucks to provide traction at the melted intersections. I didn't bring a bike, just running shoes. I had to go out early to avoid dehydration death. During the visit, I did manage to get out to the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, which was fantastic. If you do ride by Tucson, I highly recommend a stop there. The hummingbird pavilion was amazing.

We in Vermont have been very fortunate this fall with mild temps. Last few days though have raw, rainy, and blustery. Expecting snow at my place tonight, cold rain tomorrow, then sunshine for four days or so with rideable temps. We'll take it! Not too much left for the year. My trainer has been getting use lately.

Went to a custody hearing yesterday, after 14 months in our care, the judge ordered my nephews to be reunited with their mom. It's going to be a Merry Christmas for everyone, for sure. That being said, we are empty nesters again, and there is now room at the Inn. Anyone wanting to come to Tucson for some winter riding, the offer is out there.
