Raced mountain bike at Feel the Burn in Warsaw, MO today. Not many times the Star Spangled Banner is heard before the race but they have it there. A guy played it live on electric guitar and I had to turn to see if it he really was playing or if it was a tape of Woodstock.

BESTJimi Hendrix tribute ever!

Cool. He got a lot of crap for that from "patriotic" Americans. Funny thing, Jimi was an Army vet.

DNF

Slashed a tire less than two miles in and couldn't get it fixed. The course doubled back towards the start line and the promoter loaned me his bike so I still got to race the allotted distance.

Fun vibe at the race, and getting to hang out with other cyclists is always cool

I was at a crit in Alabame once (Huntsville?) and when we were lined up a dude showed up on a bike in an Elvis costume and then proceeded to sing the national anthem. It was a trip

Good thing you changed bikes, Dale. Some days you can't win for losing, changing bikes fixed all that
