No. Glad that didn't catch on. It's the antithesis of the fatbike. |

Not now at 62 knowing one fall meant 18 months of sleeping on foam with a whole for my hip bursitis. But at 25? I wouldn't have raced; too short/not enough hills for this guy but taking it out on a big pond and riding the magic of ice for 10 miles? Yeah! This guy loved skating. Big ponds, open ice, ice hockey, skate sailing (I've done 40) and ice boating whenever I got a chance. (60 several times.) So, in perspective, not really so stupid. Ben |

With my history of mishaps while riding, I'd pass. I guess the fun of the skid plate racing would be no flats! |

On the way to high school we would ride/skid our Dutch bikes on the frozen water sitting between humps in asparagus fields*; we'd also "race" each other BMX style through construction areas and in forest on those same bikes; in those days nothing was out of the question. Now I will think once, twice, three times...nah. *(in NL we harvest the underground growth = white gold; much better than the green stuff). |

Yep Having ridden a road bike on a frozen long island sound a long time ago, this looks like fun.
