Amanda Coker, setting the fastest time to 100,000 miles.  (236 miles/day for 423 days.)

Longest day - 402 miles!  Shortest - 55, a hurricane.  Her average tolling speed had to have been 20 mph or more.

I didn't follow her attempt and knew little about either it or her.  From the VeloNews article I learned she is a TBI survivor and that she started this 6 years after her accident.  That makes sense to me.  The last full year of the crazy seven years after a completely life altering accident or trauma that my best friend flew across the country to tell me about after she learned of my injury.  (She had hers while we were in high school - not a brain injury but close to death with life-long consequences.)

My hat is off Amanda.  An obsessive, self-serving venture, yes, but also an incredible "I can do this" that she can use the rest of her life.  And a big in-your-face to the death she narrowly missed years before.

My journey was very, very different, but I can relate completely.  I did my crazies on the bike over those years.  I did them solo, no documentation and told no one about most of those ventures, but like her, I did it for me, because I had to.  I won't do them again but I have no regrets.
