Isn't there a formula that relates minimum text height to age? A little like heart rates? Except text size goes up, not down. Something like: Text height = 10 + (age -35)/2). The generic formula would be: Required Font = F + (age - Av/C) where: F = readable font for young adults Av = the age at which our eyes and minimum focus start to change C = a constant to be determined through research and/or observation Ben |

I teach elementary school and all of a sudden (in the last 3 months) I am having a hard time reading texts aloud. I either need to grow longer arms or go get my eyes checked. GROAN. |

Yeah. The best upgrade I did to my Garmin bike computer was getting progressive lenses for my riding glasses. Works so much better when you can read it. |

I guess I am an idiot. I was on my desktop computer and the text is bigger there cause it has a large monitor. This forum has way too SMALL text font. I am on my laptop again, and reading the posts is next to impossible. I got to change browsers to IE, then increase the view to 125 or 150% before I can read them. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Or reduce the screen resolution. Pixel! Of course you will have to format/resize everything to fit. Maybe just do it for being online and change it back for everything else.
Edit: or get those arm extensions. I hear demand is so high you can get it done outpatient.

I think both Firefox and Chrome have settings to set the font size, depending on your version. A browser expert will hopefully correct this where wrong. Firefox: Tools - Zoom - Zoom Text Only and then zoom (Ctrl ++) or Tools - Options - Content - Fonts & Colors - Advanced, then select a Minimum font size Chrome: Settings - Advanced Settings - Web Content - Font Size, set this to large or very large |
