i've noticed a resurgence of columbian riders this season. of course they've always been known as great climbers (but not great descenders), but they were notable in their absence for many years. i wonder at the possible irony that perhaps they didn't have access to the same systemic doping programs and "medicines" (cocaine doesn't count) as the better funded americans & euros, and now that the sport is cleaner they're able to compete again. thoughts?

I think that you are correct. They were good when they were the ones with the (natural) RBC advantage but not as good as when others enhanced their RBC. I wonder if the Himalayans could do well?

so much for the "possible irony - presumption of innocence" theory. didn't they get the memo on ricco & CERA of a few years ago? sounds like they take $4it and cross their fingers.
