One of the friendliest dopers in the peleton confesses big time.

I guess they should change the polka dot jersey to an asterisks jersey; that way they got all bases covered.

Do you really need to take EPO , take blood transfusions to be a sprinter ?

I would have thought the benefit was not worth the risk. Guess the risk was so low that he figured what the heck.

nobody's surprised; everyone knows team telekom was on a program right along with USPS etc.

i'm convinced the reason kloden under performs is because he doesn't want mics thrust into his face with questions about his past. hence he always finds a way to have a sans jour to keep him anonymous in the peloton. he seems to do just enough to keep his job.

Now I don't feel so bad for Zabel getting pipped at the line by Freire

"Do you really need to take EPO , take blood transfusions to be a sprinter?"

Its interesting how often I read/hear that. More oxygen uptake and utilization is better for everyone not just GC climbers. If nothing else EPO gets you to the last 300M fresher than the clean(er) guys, especially deeper into a stage race.

And what about his son that is currently a pro racer. What has told him.

It is alll a matter of how much further you can go into oxygen debt then the other felllow (I guess it helps to have lots of fast twitch muscles as well). If you can transport more oxygen to the muscles longer to stave off the 02 debt, then you have an advantage

about Kloden, I don't think he doped until his contract was up. He always had huge years when he needed a new contract.

Sprinters need to go 200k+ to get to the last 300m, if you could get there feeling fresher I imagine it would bode well for you.

I can't see anyone in the peleton that wouldn't benefit from a little extra boost.
