In context of Icarus, Rodchenkov claimed he was asked by FSB to do same with Ukrainian sporters but he refused. It's unsubstantiated and didn't make it in documentary.

I also read something similar about Carl Lewis having Johnson's sample spiked but again unsubstantiated claims (and kinda doubt that one). Either way that was dirtiest sporting event in history.

And, unrelated, LMAO about how canoeing and surfing are both arguing who should be overseeing paddle boarding, taking it all way to CAS.

Shared fondness for doping aside, cyclists and kayakers/canoeists have a sort of yin/yang relationship:

Take a look at top level paddlers when they get out of their boats. Their upper bodies are massive and ripped, would make a body builder jealous. But their legs and gluts are sad, skinny little twigs. The contrast is almost comical.
