I never cared for Vaughters and just lumped him in with the Armstrong/Postal doping crowd.  Reading the review of his book was pretty enlightening,  The peer pressure aspect I've heard before, but not so bluntly.  (It's funny; I was such a loser as a kid that I was never even on the outskirts of the peer group and those pressures missed me entirely.  I was never pushed to either drink or smoke.  I did fall into the pot crowd esp in college, but not by outside pressure.)

I like Voughters' observation that the doping peer pressure is entirely gone in today's peloton; that dinner conversation (for example) is about things normal men talk about, not drugs.

Just from the VN commentary there isn't really anything new or surprising.

The changed attitudes in peloton around doping are merely a mirror of changed attitudes in society.
